My name is Sierra. I'm a freelance writer, blogger and social media content creator. I am particularly interested in issues related to race/ethnicity, gender/gender identity, sex/sexuality, and religion/belief.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where I minored in Mass Communication and Chicano/Latino Studies. Currently, I'm working on a Master of Arts in English-Rhetoric, Writing and Digital Media Studies through Northern Arizona University.
I have more than six years of experience working for nonprofit organizations in various capacities, including social media coordination, community engagement, and program development and implementation. I have also facilitated numerous workshops, focus groups and trainings for diverse groups of people. I believe strongly in creating opportunities for the respectful exchange of ideas, particularly among people who might not normally have the opportunity to interact.
Currently, I live in Northwest Iowa with my husband, Roger, and our three ferrets, Roxie, Glenn and Simba.
